DU UNDERGRADUATE Admissions 2020
Admissions to undergraduate (UG) courses at the University of Delhi are merit-based (that is, based on marks scored in Class XII Board/qualifying examinations) or entrance-based (that is, based on written/practical tests depending on the course selected by an aspiring student).
• All applicants must register through the University of Delhi online admissions portal https://ug.du.ac.in
• All undergraduate admissions for 2020 - 21 will be administered only through this portal.
• There is no offline admission for any applicant. • Only eligible applicants who have registered online through the university portal can be considered for admission.
• Applicants will be required to appear in person at the University of Delhi only at the very end of the admission process, for verification of certificates as per the schedule to be announced by the University/ College.
• All other admission procedures are to be completed by the applicant using the unique login ID they create on the Delhi University Undergraduate admissions portal (Registration process to be announced on the University website).
Eligibility Criteria for Undergraduate Courses
• The applicant must be a citizen of India. (Applicants seeking admission under the Foreign Students’ category to apply separately on Foreign Students’ Registry website, http://fsr.du.ac.in.)
• The applicant should have passed the Class XII examination of any Board/ University examination in India or in any foreign country recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). • The applicant should have “passed” individually in each subject required (including practicals if any) for calculating merit and eligibility to the course they seek admission in.
• Applicants with gap year(s) will not be at any disadvantage for the purpose of admission to undergraduate courses.
• Applicants under the UR/SC/ST/OBC/EWS categories are eligible to seek admission based on both merit and entrance tests to courses in all Colleges/ Departments (except Minority Colleges, wherein some categories may not be applicable).
• Applicants from the Sikh and Christian minorities may also seek admission under the minority quota in the Minority Colleges of the University.
• The following categories are designated “supernumerary”:
i) PwBD (Persons with Benchmark Disabilities);
ii) CW (Children/Widows of Personnel of the Armed Forces including Para-Military);
iii) KM (Kashmiri Migrants);
iv) Prime Minister’s special scholarship for Jammu and Kashmir;
v) SS (Nominated Sikkimese Students);
vi) WQ (Ward Quota);
vii) ECA (Extra-Curricular Activities);
viii) Sports.
Note:
Categories i –viii above are applicable to courses where admission is based on merit. For courses where admission is based on entrance tests, only categories i and ii above are applicable.
Fees for Online Registration
i. Registration fee for Merit-based courses for UR/OBC Rs. 250
ii. Registration fee for SC/ST/PwBD/EWS Rs. 100
iii. Additional Registration fee for ECA/Sports Rs. 100
iv. Addl Registration fee for each Entrance-based course for UR/OBC Rs.750
v. Additional Registration fee for each Entrance-based course for SC/ST/PwBD/EWS RS. 300
vi. Admission Cancellation fee Rs. 1000
Note-
The online registration process is completed only after realization of the registration fee. Applicants must ensure that the registration fee is submitted to the correct portal; submissions that have been made via any other link than made available through the applicant’s Dashboard on the University undergraduate admissions portal will not be considered.
Registration fee will not be refunded in any circumstances, including if the applicant is found ineligible for the course or respective category at a later stage. The applicant is advised to check that they satisfy all eligibility criteria for the course(s) for which they are applying.
How to Register-
Register online for all undergraduate courses through the admission portal URL http://ug.du.ac.in & follow the guidelines to proceed. There’s no offline form.
You may select all programmes/courses of your interest through a single online registration form. It is important to note that you can apply in all merit based as well as entrance-based courses through the same online application.
The applicant can change/update information till the last date of registration with the correction fees of Rs 100. However they can update the marks obtained till the last date of UG admission.
The portal allows you to register only once. However, you can rectify error by logging again into your account through the “Edit” button at the end of each session/page till the online registration portal is open & the fee is not paid.
The payment is accepted online only through credit card/debit card/Net Banking/UPI.
You can apply for ECA and Sports quota by selecting appropriate options in registration form. There is an additional fee of Rs. 100 each for applying under ECA or Sports quota
ECA and Sports quota are not applicable to entrance-based courses. Once you have paid the fee, you will not be able to apply under ECA/Sports Category.
Please ensure that you have:

You have uploaded the required documents under the section ‘Uploads’.
There is no disadvantage for gap year students and they would be treated at par with regular students. They should meet the requisite criteria for admission and must possess the necessary documents/certificates.
Admissions in the colleges are not based on first come first serve policy. Instead, the applicant who has filled the online registration form and satisfies the criteria and cut-off for a particular programme/course in a particular college will be considered for admission as per the schedule of admission specified.
Without Mathematics, you are not eligible for B.A. (H) Economics / B.Com. (H)/ BMS/BBA(FIA)/ B. A. (H) Business Economics courses.
You cannot take admission simultaneously in two different courses or same courses in different colleges. In case you take admission at two places, your admission will be cancelled from both the colleges/courses.
If you have passed 12th class from NIOS, you can get admission in a regular college provided you have applied in an available programme/course and meet the cut-off criteria
If you are applying under any reserved category (SC/ST/OBC/EwS), then you must have the SC/ST/OBC//EwS certificate in the name of candidate. The OBC certificate must also specify that candidate belongs to non-creamy layer and the caste is listed in the Central Government list I and it must be issued on and after 31st March 2019.
Note: For candidates claiming reservation under Ews category the Certificate should be issued by SDM and should have been issued on or after March 31, 2020.
If your result is awaited, you can submit the online registration form by choosing “Awaited” in the drop-down menu of “Result Status” on “Academic Details” page/section while entering the information. However, you will have to fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria/meeting cut-off list of that course/college during the stipulated period.
