RAILWAY RECRUITMENT- 2018 CENTRALISED EMPLOYMENT NOTICE (CEN) No.01/2018 for Recruitment of Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) & Technicians.
ONLINE applications are invited from eligible candidates for the posts of Assistant Loco Pilot & Technicians. Applications complete in all respect should be submitted ONLINE ONLY before 23.59 hrs of 05.03.2018.

AGE LIMIT:
18 to 28 years. The lower and upper age limit is common for all the notified posts and the same shall be reckoned as on 01.07.2018
Note-
Relaxation in upper age limit is admissible as per norms.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Candidates should have the Educational/Technical qualifications indicated for notified posts in the CEN from recognized Institute/University as on the closing date for submission of the ONLINE application. Annexure-A may be referred for the prescribed qualification against each of the posts. Those awaiting results of the final examination of the prescribed educational/technical qualification SHOULD NOT apply. Diploma/Degree in Engineering will not be accepted in lieu of course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI for the post of Technicians unless otherwise specified. Graduate Act Apprentice will not be accepted in lieu of Course Completed Act Apprenticeship (CCAA).

Scale of pay-
Level 02 of 7th CPC Pay Matrix with initial pay of `19900/- plus other allowances as admissible.
EXAMINATION FEE:
Candidates applying for the posts in this CEN have to pay the prescribed fee as per their category detailed below:
1. For all candidates except the fee concession categories- 500/-
2. For SC / ST / Ex-Serviceman / PWDs / Female / Transgender / Minorities / Economically backward class Candidates- 250/-
RECRUITMENT PROCESS:
Only single online application (common to all the notified posts- ALP & Technicians) has to be submitted by the candidate through the link provided on the official website of RRBs.
The entire recruitment process shall involve, First stage CBT, Second stage CBT, Computer Based Aptitude Test and Document Verification as applicable.
The date, time and venue for all the activities viz First stage CBT, Second stage CBT, Computer Based AT and DV or any other additional activity as applicable shall be fixed by the RRBs and shall be intimated to the eligible candidates in due course. Request for postponement of any of the above activity or for change of venue, date and shift will not be entertained under any circumstances.
First Stage CBT (Common for ALP/Technician)
Duration: 60 Min,
No of Questions: 75
Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories :
UR -40%,
OBC-30%,
SC-30%,
ST -25%.
These percentage of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PWD candidates in case of shortage of PWD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.
The First Stage CBT is of screening nature and the standard of questions for the CBT will be generally in conformity with the educational standards and/or minimum technical qualifications prescribed for the posts. The score of first stage exam shall be used only for short listing of candidates for second stage exam as per their merit. Candidates who are shortlisted for Second Stage CBT availing the reservation benefits of a community shall continue to be considered only against that community for all subsequent stages of recruitment process.
The Questions will be of objective type with multiple choices and are likely to include questions pertaining to:
a. Mathematics
Number system, BODMAS, Decimals, Fractions, LCM, HCF, Ratio and Proportion, Percentages, Mensuration, Time and Work; Time and Distance, Simple and Compound Interest, Profit and Loss, Algebra, Geometry and Trigonometry, Elementary Statistics, Square Root, Age Calculations, Calendar & Clock, Pipes & Cistern etc.
b. General Intelligence and Reasoning
Analogies, Alphabetical and Number Series, Coding and Decoding, Mathematical operations, Relationships, Syllogism, Jumbling, Venn Diagram, Data Interpretation and Sufficiency, Conclusions and Decision Making, Similarities and Differences, Analytical reasoning, Classification, Directions, Statement – Arguments and Assumptions etc.
c. General Science
The syllabus under this shall cover Physics, Chemistry and Life Sciences of 10th standard level.
d. General awareness on current affairs in Science & Technology, Sports, Culture, Personalities, Economics, Politics and other subjects of importance.

Candidates may either login to the application status link on the website of RRBs or through the link available in the email sent to them and upload proper passport size photograph as per requirements specified in para 14.1(h) of CEN 01/2018 latest by 23.59 hrs of 20.07.2018.
Thereafter, decision of RRBs regarding validity of photographs shall be final and binding and no further representations on this account shall be entertained.

RRB has notified tht representations received from the candidates of CEN- 01/2018 regarding invalid photographs have been examined and the revised status of photos are being emailed to individual candidates. They are advised to check the revised status of their applications.Further, as an exceptional measure, RRBs have decided to give a one-time opportunity to those candidates, whose photographs have not been found valid, to modify their photographs. Candidates may either login to the application status link on the website of RRBs or through the link available in the email sent to them and upload proper passport size photograph as per requirements specified in para 14.1(h) of CEN 01/2018 latest by 23.59 hrs of 20.07.2018.
